Potter's "average" duo broken up in Nuno's first West Ham XI predicted

There is no getting away from the fact that it’s been a horror start to the season for West Ham United this year.

The East Londoners were knocked out of the League Cup at the first time of asking by Wolverhampton Wanderers and have lost four of their five Premier League games, scoring just five goals and conceding 13.

So, when taking this into account, plus last season’s dire form, which saw his side lose nine of 19 games, it was no surprise to see Graham Potter finally given the sack on Saturday.

In his place, the Hammers have hired Nuno Espírito Santo, who recently enjoyed a brilliant stint with Nottingham Forest, taking them from relegation candidates to European football in a season and a half.

The Portuguese manager is known for playing slightly more defensive football than the Englishman, but his ability to turn his teams into counter-attacking machines could bring some real excitement – and success – back to the London Stadium.

However, before Nuno has a chance to greet the home fans, he faces the daunting task of taking on Everton at their brand-new stadium, which will be no easy task given their current form.

West Ham and Nuno's record vs Everton

Since their first competitive encounter all the way back in February 1907, West Ham have played Everton a whopping 153 times. Unfortunately, the Hammers have won just 45 of those games, drawn 33, and lost the other 75.

However, their recent record against the Toffees has been far more encouraging, with just one loss in their last five games, two wins and two draws.

Those two draws came last season, with ex-boss Julen Lopetegui overseeing a drab 0-0 draw at home in November, and then Potter leading his side to a 1-1 draw at Goodison Park courtesy of a 67th-minute strike from Tomáš Souček, which was matched by a 91st-minute strike from Jake O’Brien.

Unfortunately, while the Irons’ overall record against West Ham is far from ideal, Nuno’s isn’t any better.

Across his time with Wolverhampton Wanderers and Forest, the São Tomé-born tactician has overseen nine matches against the Merseysiders, winning three, drawing one and losing the other five.

Now, his teams have scored 13 goals and conceded just 12 in those games, but it’s still a worrying record, especially when taking into account the fact that the Tricky Trees lost at home to David Moyes’ side in April this year.

However, today is the start of a new project for Nuno and West Ham, and there is every chance the former Forest boss can pick up all three points, and this is the line-up he could do that with.

West Ham's predicted line-up

Souček is still out due to the straight red card he picked up against Tottenham Hotspur, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka is still out with a stomach issue.

However, apart from them, Nuno should have a full contingent of players to pick from to fill out his favoured 4-2-3-1 formation for tonight’s hugely important game.

Starting between the sticks has to be Alphonse Areola. The Frenchman wasn’t great against Crystal Palace last week, but Mads Hermansen has had a horror start to his Irons career, and the new boss won’t want a goalkeeping error to cost him in his first game.

The full-back pairing has to be Kyle Walker-Peters and El Hadji Malick Diouf. The former has to start due to Wan-Bissaka’s stomach issue, and the latter has been one of the few players who have looked good this season, already providing three assists in five league games.

Things could change quickly under the new regime, but for the game tonight, Max Kilman and Konstantinos Mavropanos will likely keep their places in the team as they’ve started the last three games together.

Now, we get to the first significant change to the team in the midfield, with the “average” James Ward-Prowse, as dubbed by one analyst, being left on the bench for summer signings Matues Fernandes and Soungoutou Magassa to come in as the deeper midfield two.

The former Southampton star barely got any game time when he was on loan with Forest last season, and considering his truly dreadful start to the campaign, it would be baffling to see him start tonight.

Moreover, the former AS Monaco gem possesses the tenacity, energy, and mentality to do the necessary dirty work. At the same time, the Portuguese ace can bring more ball quality from deep, helping to create a wonderfully balanced double pivot.

Starting in attacking midfield will undoubtedly be the mercurial Lucas Paqueta. The Brazilian hasn’t been at his best so far this season, but he’s still been able to score three goals in five games.

Moreover, the manager helped Morgan Gibbs-White rack up 17 goal involvements in 38 games last year, so there is no telling what he’ll be able to do with the former Lyon star.

It’ll come as no surprise to anyone to see Jarrod Bowen out on the right this evening, as even though the rest of the team have struggled this season, the former Hull City star has scored two goals and provided an assist in his six appearances.

Furthermore, the 28-year-old game-changer was able to rack up a sensational haul of 24 goal involvements in just 36 appearances last year, so he is going nowhere.

On the opposite flank, it’ll probably be another start for Crysencio Summerville. The former Leeds United gem certainly needs to work on his output, but there is no denying that he makes things happen off the left, and his rapid pace could be perfect for the counter-attacking football the new boss is known for.

Finally, while some might want to see Niclas Füllkrug return to the team, it will likely be Callum Wilson who starts up top. The former Newcastle United star certainly has his drawbacks, but unlike the German, he has a goal to his name this season and a track record of scoring when fit.

Ultimately, it may well still be incredibly early on in the season, but West Ham’s game against Everton tonight feels like a massive one, not just because it’s a chance for the team to put a stop to their downward slide, but also because it’s a chance for Nuno to properly introduce himself to the fans and show them what he’s about.

No more second chances for Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans

After finishing a gruelling season at No. 3 and 4, Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians face off in a knockout

Hemant Brar29-May-20252:58

Moody: GT have a few more concerns than MI

Big picture: Can GT cope without Buttler? Before the start of IPL 2025, Gujarat Titans (GT) seemed to have a hole in their batting line-up. They had an excellent top three and a bunch of finishers but the middle order looked thin. GT, though, finished third in the league stage and will now face Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Eliminator in New Chandigarh on Friday. The winner moves on to Qualifier 2, one step closer to the final; the loser is eliminated.GT relied heavily on their top three during their run to the playoffs. In most games, at least one of Shubman Gill, B Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler batted so deep that the middle order was barely required. On the rare occasion when they fell relatively early, Sherfane Rutherford and Shahrukh Khan proved that the perceived hole in the middle order wasn’t so deep. The interruption to the season, however, interrupted GT’s momentum. They were on course for a top-two finish but lost their last two league games and dropped to No. 3. Now Buttler has left for the England duty and GT’s first match without him is the Eliminator. His replacement Kusal Mendis is a fine batter but he is not in the same league. Moreover, he has never played the IPL and his last innings in a competitive game was more than a month ago.Related

MI's turnaround decoded: death overs tamed, middle overs mastered

GT were perhaps the only franchise to have constructed their squad around their bowling. But with Mohammed Siraj’s form tapering off and Rashid Khan’s never really picking up, their strongest department does not look as strong. In the last three games, they conceded 199, 235 and 230.MI, on the other hand, are a galaxy of stars. But not everyone has been shining as brightly. Suryakumar Yadav is their leading run-getter with 640, but the next best, Ryan Rickelton, is 252 behind. And he is not available for the playoffs. The next on the list is Rohit Sharma with 329.Unlike Mendis for GT, MI’s replacement for Rickelton is an IPL veteran: Jonny Bairstow. Last fortnight, he smashed twin fifties for Yorkshire, albeit in a red-ball game. Will Jacks, who has also left MI for England duty, does not leave behind that big a hole. On current form, their bowling attack also seems stronger than GT’s.GT, though, will draw confidence from having beaten MI in both league games. In fact, MI are yet to beat any of the three other teams in the playoffs. They did have a six-match winning streak in the middle, but after two losses in their last three league games, they no longer appear invincible.3:00

The 31 sixes he has been hit for are the joint most for any bowler in an IPL season alongside Siraj in 2022.Bumrah missed the first four matches as he was recovering from a back injury. In Qualifier 1, Punjab Kings (PBKS) were all out for 101 on a surface that helped both seamers and spinners, but it will be a fresh pitch for the Eliminator. The weather forecast for Friday is likely to be cloudy, but there is no indication of rain.Key stats In the IPL, Hardik Pandya has dismissed Gill four times in 23 balls while giving away only 19 runs. Mendis has struggled against Mitchell Santner in T20 cricket – four dismissals in 39 balls for just 34 runs. Across all T20s, Suryakumar has taken Rashid for 117 runs in 77 balls without a dismissal. Rashid has dominated his match-up against Hardik, though: 32 runs in 44 balls, two dismissals. Tilak Varma has faced seven balls from Prasidh Krishna in the IPL. He’s been dismissed twice and hasn’t scored a run.

'Fearless without being careless' – Salman Agha lays down marker for Pakistan in T20Is

Pakistan’s T20I captain feels they played the same way in the last two series – against New Zealand and Bangladesh – for contrasting results

Danyal Rasool02-Jun-2025

A lot has changed between Pakistan’s last T20I series and this one. That took place in New Zealand in the wake of a disastrous home Champions Trophy campaign, while this one, against Bangladesh, happened at home on the other side of PSL 2025. Pakistan have a new coaching staff, and produced a markedly different result – a 3-0 rout of Bangladesh as opposed to a 4-1 reverse in New Zealand. What satisfies Salman Agha, though, is that Pakistan’s style of play, he feels, did not change. Their commitment to reduce the role anchors play in a batting innings continued, and a number of young players called up for that New Zealand series played starring roles in this one. The ephemeral nature of any game style or philosophy in Pakistan – often dictated by one or two bad results – means this stylistic continuation across these two series is notable in itself. For Salman, the man at the helm for both tours, it is also non-negotiable. “As long as I’m captain this is how we’ll play,” he said after Pakistan’s seven-wicket win in the third T20I. “I think this is the way to play cricket going forward; that’s how the world is playing. You need to put the bowlers and batters under pressure. In New Zealand, this is what we tried to follow, but conditions didn’t allow it. But the boys who went there learned a way to be fearless without being careless. That is something we’ve balanced perfectly this series.”Related

Pakistan white-ball coach Hesson: Want players who are multi-skilled, not milestone obsessed

Haris stars with 107* as Pakistan complete whitewash

Bright starts, familiar flaws – Takeaways from Bangladesh's Lahore malfunction

That balance is notoriously difficult to define, let alone achieve; Shane Warne’s famous exhortation to “tee off (not recklessly)” perhaps crystallises the extent to which the final outcome dictates how this approach is ultimately viewed. For Pakistan, it is perhaps the performances of Mohammad Haris across these games which appear to suggest they ended up on the right side of that balance. After a pair of early wickets in the first games, Haris began slowly, scoring seven runs in his first eight balls before adopting that fearless approach Salman mentioned; he would smash 24 in his next nine, and Pakistan ended up scoring over 200.In the next two games, with no such pressure at the outset, Haris would target the bowlers from the get-go, culminating in that memorable unbeaten 46-ball 107 to seal the whitewash. For a player often criticised for rash strokeplay and an inability to build an innings that lasts longer than a handful of deliveries, this series showcased the potential of Pakistan’s new approach applied properly.”Haris gets accused of not using his brain during T20 innings,” Salman said. “In this series, when we were 5 for 2 [in the first game], he took calculated risks, and the same today. I think Haris, Saim [Ayub] and Hasan [Nawaz] are players I’d like to turn into matchwinners in my captaincy. These players can perform wonders for Pakistan cricket.”While Salman promised “the door is not closed for anybody” in his T20 set-up, the message of who is being moved on from is fairly unmistakeable. Pakistan have long tried – and ultimately failed – to shut the door on Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam’s days, as Pakistan’s primary T20 openers feted for their consistency but slated for their conservatism. Even in the recent past, their place at the top was justified due to an absence of players who could construct innings if they fell too early. These three games might not have been against an elite T20 side, but early wickets did not sound alarm bells for Pakistan’s innings as they have in the past, with Salman keen to take encouragement from it.”I’m very happy with this team and the environment we’re creating,” he said. “I think the team has begun to move in [the right] direction. If conditions change, we’ll respect it. Modern-day cricket doesn’t mean disrespecting conditions. For me, modern cricket is beating par by about 10-15 runs – both with bat and ball – so you make it easier for the bowlers or the batters. Whatever the conditions, we’ll follow what we feel the par score is and then try to beat it.Salman Agha said that Pakistan’s batting order, apart from the top three, is flexible•PCB

“Openers’ positions don’t change. Haris is a player at No. 3 for us because he’s a keeper and we like to give him a little rest after that. Hasan is a middle-order hitter, and my number with him is interchangeable. The top three are set, and the rest is situation dependent. I was going to play at No. 4, but we saw we hadn’t lost more than one wicket after 10 overs. And we’ve seen how dangerous Hasan is against spin in the PSL and this series. So we keep the batting order flexible and expect players to be ready to come in.”Salman is well aware of how quickly positions of power within Pakistan cricket can be undermined, but for now, he speaks with the authority and stature of a Pakistan captain who has the breathing space to look beyond just the next game or series. With Mike Hesson, his coach at Islamabad United in the PSL, now Pakistan’s white-ball coach, there is a sense the team and the management are on the same page, with the board having given them license to pursue a fresh start however they choose.”I’m very happy. The young boys performed,” Salman said. “The result doesn’t matter for me, what matters is how we play cricket. We need to play cricket the way we played these games, and to entertain people. If we put the opposition under pressure, we’ll win more games than not.”There’s a year to go for the T20 World Cup, so you can’t say it’ll be the same players. But I think the core will be the same because I’d like to give these boys as much of a chance as possible. We’d like to have a playing XI for the World Cup ready with players who have experience of playing in this team. This is a young side with 25-30 matches to go. But the core is the same.”

Worth more than Isak & Wirtz: Man City struck gold on "generational" star

The curious case of Manchester City. Last season, Pep Guardiola’s side were four-in-a-row Premier League champions, and they were just a year ahead of a stunning treble.

But things went wrong; Guardiola’s is a complex machine, and some of the cogs fell out of place after so many years at the top. In a way, that was to be expected. That Man City dominated as they did for as long as they did was miraculous in many ways.

Heading into the current campaign, there was much uncertainty about City’s pre-season preparations, but there have been promising signs, and their position is fifth after seven games. Arsenal, top of the table, hold a three-point lead.

Arsenal probably have the most complete squad in the Premier League, while Liverpool boast the most threatening frontline, having broken the British transfer record twice this summer with Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak.

When Man City missed out on Florian Wirtz

At the beginning of the summer, it looked as though the German was on his way to the Etihad. Reports indicated that he was ‘tempted’ to move to Manchester but the Citizens ultimately ended up pulling out of the deal.

Indeed, other claims at the time suggested that they had withdrawn their interest due to ‘the rising costs’ of the move. Quite. Liverpool ended up signing him for a whopping £116m.

That said, it’s unlikely they’ll be too upset. City have the unstoppable Erling Haaland leading the line while Wirtz continues to flounder, failing to score in Liverpool red just yet.

By Haaland’s standards, it’s been a slow start to the season. Nine goals from seven Premier League matches. How he must hang his head in shame.

Twice the Norwegian has posted more at this early stage, but we’re splitting hairs, and this really just underscores exactly how inimitable a goalscorer Haaland really is.

Aged 25, he’s now a robust and intelligent number nine, blending his physicality and innate shooting ability with movement and timing beyond all his positional peers.

If City reclaim their throne this term, there is no question that the unstoppable striker will be the main man.

Haaland is the most valuable player in the Premier League, according to CIES Football Observatory, but he’s not the only Citizen with a lofty price tag.

Indeed, Guardiola holds another in his ranks who actually eclipses the aforementioned Liverpool superstars, Isak and Wirtz.

Man City have struck gold with their "generational talent"

Manchester City might have emerged from a valley, but further back there have been plenty of peaks. And among the definitive stars of the Guardiola era is Phil Foden, who might just be hitting his stride once again.

Foden graduated from the City academy in 2016 and has made 197 appearances for City, winning six Premier League titles and the Champions League among many further honours. The Independent’s Miguel Delaney hailed him as a “generational talent”.

Exceptionally talented on the ball and a predator in the final third, the versatile attacking midfielder dipped last season, no doubt, but he has been a talisman throughout an illustrious era for City, and ostensibly stands before his prime years.

CIES Football Observatory outlined only in January that the Three Lions star is among the most valuable in the world, with his £126m worth above Wirtz and marginally ahead of Isak.

Liverpool garnered plenty of praise for their summer spending spree, and indeed look a force to be reckoned with in the long run, but with Haaland and Foden combining in the final third under Pep’s wing, there’s every chance City will be the team to beat once again in a short time.

This emphasises the quality at Pep’s disposal, and if Foden can raise his game that bit more over the coming months, he might produce a campaign that sees Liverpool’s big hitters pale in comparison.

Whether Foden hits the same meteoric heights as previous campaigns remains to be seen, but he’s starting to click together once again and has the ‘generational’ quality to have every bit as big an impact as Haaland across the year.

Slot can fix Gravenberch blow with Liverpool star who's "Wijnaldum-esque"

There’s no point sugarcoating it: Liverpool are in a spot of bother.

This is not a crisis in the overblown sense it has been made out to be across some pockets of punditry and social media, but Liverpool and Arne Slot are in a spot of bother nonetheless.

The beauty of football is that the football never stops. Liverpool slumped to a fourth successive defeat at Anfield against Manchester United last weekend, but a confident win over Eintracht Frankfurt this week before taking on Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday could rewrite the script and settle more than a few stomachs.

Of course, the Reds need to turn up, and their bleak Champions League defeat in Istanbul against Galatasaray will remain freshly pressed in the club and their fanbase’s memories.

All eyes will be on team selection. Will Slot persist with the horribly out-of-form Mohamed Salah? How will the Dutch tactician deal with his side’s glaring weaknesses across the defensive flanks?

There’s an even graver problem to contend with, though. Ryan Gravenberch’s injury-threatened campaign could see him sit this one out.

In the build-up to Liverpool’s recent loss against Manchester United, Slot confirmed Gravenberch was fully fit after being substituted at half-time of the Netherlands’ 4-0 win over Finland during the October international break.

But he was forced off with an ankle issue against the Red Devils, and now Liverpool may need to find a new solution at number six, a big concern given the pre-existing imbalances across central midfield.

Alexis Mac Allister, in particular, has flattered to deceive, with analyst Raj Chohan even claiming the Argentina star “cannot” address these current difficulties in regard to build-up play and physicality across the engine room.

As much as Liverpool have struggled this season, Gravenberch has developed his game even further after playing such a pivotal role in Slot’s success last year.

Replacing him will be no easy task, and though Mac Allister’s tough-tackling faculties suggest he could move into the deep berth he has held before, there’s another Liverpool star whose skillset lends itself to Gravenberch’s duty, and he must start in Frankfurt.

The Liverpool star who could replace Gravenberch

Mac Allister has been well out of sorts since his disrupted summer break, but Liverpool’s issues are endemic, and Dominik Szoboszlai’s services may be required at right-back for this trip to Germany.

If that is to be the case, Mac Allister may well reprise his role. But what of Gravenberch? Well, Liverpool have a solution in Curtis Jones, who could fit into the anchoring role in midfield and perhaps open up new possibilities for Liverpool’s hat-wearing talent.

A boyhood red and an academy graduate, Jones has played 189 times for Liverpool, and came into his own last year as Slot’s side cantered to the Premier League title, playing 33 times in the league and notching seven goal contributions.

Jones, 24, is criminally underrated in his dynamism and controlled approach in the middle of the park, notably hailed by Jamie Carragher as “Wijnaldum-esque” a few years ago.

According to FBref’s data, he ranks among the top 2% of midfielders across Europe’s top five leagues over the past year for pass completion, but also the top 14% for through balls, the top 7% for goal-creating actions and the top 14% for progressive passes per 90.

As well as this, Jones’ athleticism and ball-carrying quality make for another string to the bow.

But the real marker of the England international’s bearing in this Liverpool squad is his passion. With Trent Alexander-Arnold now plying his trade with Real Madrid, Jones is the Scouser in the team.

A dynamic and committed midfielder, he has played here, there, and everywhere, but ample game time in the six role suggests he could fill in for Gravenberch and maybe free Mac Allister up while doing so.

Without question, Liverpool’s wretched form cannot continue, with the poor performances stemming further back than this recent winless run. Indeed, Liverpool were reliant on late goals and tenacity throughout the early weeks of the campaign, and that wellspring has since dried up.

Analyst Sam McGuire said after the United defeat that Jones’ introduction during the second half “helped with our intensity”. Moreover, he’s been noted in the past as a “physical machine” by Jurgen Klopp’s former assistant Pep Lijnders.

These are two elements of Liverpool’s midfield play that have left plenty to be desired this term, and Slot might restore a semblance of balance and robustness to his Liverpool team by placing Jones in the deep, connective role, rather than a Mac Allister who has fallen by the wayside this year and has shown little to suggest he is the solution to the woes.

Plenty of food for thought for Mr Slot. For Liverpool to slump to a fifth defeat on the bounce would be incomprehensible, and a bitter blow to their Champions League aspirations.

Jones has been entrusted with nothing more than a bit-part role so far this year, starting only once in the Premier League (at St. James’ Park).

That needs to change, lest Liverpool’s poor patch devolve into something far more critical.

Rodrigo Caetano no Corinthians?

Can Pakistan save the blushes against rampant Bangladesh?

Bangladesh are searching for a 3-0 series clean sweep; Pakistan are looking for fixes

Big picture: Can Bangladesh make it 3-0?Bangladesh set aside Pakistan’s pseudo-paternalistic concerns about their home pitches not helping them away on Tuesday. After all, this series is taking place in Bangladesh, and in the corresponding one six weeks ago, Pakistan prepared surfaces designed to suit their own game; it hasn’t exactly helped them away in Bangladesh, either.A dominant bowling performance helped Bangladesh wrap up the three-match T20I series at the earliest opportunity, with the visitors grateful for a counterattacking knock from Faheem Ashraf that staved off sharper embarrassment, though not defeat.Coming a day after the tragic events of a plane crash into a school that took many lives, an emotional crowd in Dhaka were given something to cheer by a home performance which oscillated between steel and swagger. The former was required when Pakistan’s bowlers punctured Bangladesh’s top order repeatedly in the powerplay and beyond; Jaker Ali and Mahedi Hasan stanching the bleeding and keeping alive their hopes in the contest. The fast bowlers then lit the stadium up in a scarcely believable powerplay where they took five wickets.Related

Bangladesh seal first T20I series win against Pakistan

Jaker: 'I only count match-winning runs, the rest doesn't register'

Even more satisfying, perhaps, for Bangladesh is the well-roundedness of their displays this series. They showed, in the first game, an ability to hunt down a low-scoring total with ease despite early pressure, before defending one in the second, holding their nerve in a tight finish. They even rested two of their best performers in the second contest – Tanzid Hasan and Taskin Ahmed – without leaving them too exposed in these conditions. At just about every stage in each game, they have found themselves ahead of Pakistan, and fittingly, that’s where they are guaranteed to stay. When Pakistan trounced this opposition at home a few weeks earlier, captain Salman Agha had said he would judge his team by intent more than results. However, that intent – particularly on Tuesday after Pakistan lost a heap of early wickets – was lacking for large periods. The asking rate ballooned to a point where, even in a low-scoring game, Pakistan scored 78 off the last 45 balls and still end up short. Salman himself scratched around for 23 balls, managing just nine. However, one thing going for Pakistan is that they have a large number of T20Is over the rest of the year. If they find themselves unable to implement the fixes they have so publicly promised they are seeking, it won’t be for lack of match practice. The final game against Bangladesh may offer a window into how quickly those fixes can begin to be implemented.Form guideBangladesh: WWWWL

In the spotlight: Mustafizur Rahman and Hasan NawazMustafizur Rahman has tormented Pakistan this series, using his famous offcutters on a surface designed to make them impossibly difficult to play. The pace-on variation makes that weapon even more deadly, and Bangladesh have wrapped up the series before Pakistan have figured out how to handle him. Across two games, he boasts an economy rate under five and has taken three wickets, including the one that finished Pakistan off on Tuesday. Should Bangladesh play him with the series already done, there’s little to suggest Pakistan won’t struggle similarly against him.Hasan Nawaz intersperses big scores and impactful innings with a string of low ones, and he’s in the latter cycle right now. He’s faced ten deliveries this series, but he’s yet to score, dismissed for a duck each innings. It’s been a story that’s repeated itself throughout his brief career so far; the T20I series against New Zealand in March saw him score one century but add just a solitary run in the other four innings. It is that explosiveness that Pakistan use to justify his selection, and what they will bank on as they try and avoid a series whitewash.Team news: Farhan, Muqeem to get a chance?Bangladesh may rest the odd player or two with the series done, but there are no new injury concerns.Bangladesh (probable XI): 1 Tanzid Hasan, 2 Parvez Hossain Emon, 3 Litton Das (capt), 4 Towhid Hridoy, 5 Jaker Ali (wk), 6 Shamim Hossain, 7 Mahedi Hasan, 8 Rishad Hossain, 9 Tanzim Hasan Sakib, 10 Mustafizur Rahman/Shoriful Isman, 11 Taskin AhmedWill Sufiyan Muqeem come into the side for the third T20I?•AFP/Getty Images

Sahibzada Farhan is yet to get a game this series, as is Sufiyan Muqeem. The inclusion of either won’t be a surprise, though Pakistan’s weakened bowling attack means they will continue to be forced to turn to part-timers to run through an innings.Pakistan: (probable XI): 1 Fakhar Zaman, 2 Saim Ayub/Sahibzada Farhan, 3 Mohammad Haris (wk), 4 Hasan Nawaz, 5 Salman Agha (capt), 6 Khushdil Shah, 7 Abbas Afridi, 8 Faheem Ashraf, 9 Ahmed Daniyal, 10 Salman Mirza, 11 Abrar Ahmed/Sufiyan MuqeemPitch and conditionsMirpur has stayed dry even amidst heavy monsoon rain in Dhaka of late.
