Mics Caught Yankees Fan Taunting Freddie Freeman During Stand Up to Cancer Moment

The Los Angeles Dodgers failed in their attempt to sweep the New York Yankees in the World Series, losing Game 4 on Tuesday night, 11-4.

Freddie Freeman, however, was able to make some cool history when he became the first player in history to hit a home run in six straight World Series games.

The lefty's historic blast came in the first inning when belted a 2-1 pitch over the wall in right to give the Dodgers a quick 2-0 lead.

Later in the game, Freeman heard it from a Yankees fan during the Stand Up for Cancer moment when mics picked up someone in the crowd yelling, "You suck, Freeman!"

Freeman, as the stats and history clearly show, doesn't suck. Not even close.

Game 5 is Wednesday night at Yankee Stadium.

Same agent as Havertz: Arsenal now keen on £87m CF with eight goals in 25/26

Arsenal are now looking to sign a £87m striker with the same agent as Kai Havertz, joining a number of their Premier League rivals in the race for his signature.

Gunners looking to sign new striker amid Gyokeres criticism

Having knocked on the door in each of the last three Premier League seasons, finishing second on each occasion, the Gunners look like they are finally in a strong position to take the final step and win the title, most recently defeating Crystal Palace 1-0.

The narrow victory ensured Mikel Arteta’s side moved four points clear at the top of the table, with their stellar defensive record one of the main reasons they continue to set the pace, having shipped just three goals in their opening nine league games.

At the opposite end of the pitch, summer signing Viktor Gyokeres was seen as the final piece of the jigsaw, but the Swedish striker has already developed a reputation of a ‘flat track bully’, having scored just three league goals, two of which coming against Leeds United in August.

Troy Deeney has recently made it clear he doesn’t believe Gyokeres is in the same bracket as Harry Kane or Erling Haaland, given that Brighton & Hove Albion’s Danny Welbeck is outscoring the former Sporting CP man in the Premier League this season.

Gyokeres is regarded as one of the best strikers in the world, but there has now been a suggestion that Arsenal are already planning to bring in another new striker, with a report from Caught Offside stating they are keen on FC Porto’s Samu Omorodion.

Omorodion is protected by a monster release clause of €100m (£87m), so the Gunners would need to be willing to spend big to get a deal done, and they are not the only English club keen, with Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest also in the race.

The north Londoners have sent scouts to watch the Porto star in action in recent weeks, and they are likely to have been left impressed by his performances…

The 21-year-old is off to a very impressive start to the season, amassing eight goals in all competitions for Porto, and the youngster is showing signs he could be on course to have his best season to date, having progressed year-on-year since breaking through in Spain.

During that time, the former Alaves man also caught the eye of scout Ben Mattinson, who hailed him as a “box dominator” back in February.

Omorodion could be capable of becoming a top-level striker, but there are doubts over whether he would be a necessary signing for Arsenal, given that Gyokeres and Havertz are also on the books, with the Spain international interestingly represented by the same agent as the German.

Mikel Arteta hails "massive" £90k-p/w Arsenal star who he's starting to use

Mikel Arteta has hailed “magical” Leandro Trossard as a “massive weapon” for Arsenal after he fired his side to the top of the Premier League.

Trossard, on £90,000-a-week, bundled home Bukayo Saka’s 58th minute corner at Fulham in a 1-0 win for the Gunners which ensures they will end the latest round of fixtures at the league summit.

Trossard scored just eight times in the league last term and, following Arsenal’s summer spending spree with eight new players arriving at the Emirates, the Belgium international might have feared for his place in Arteta’s side.

However, the 30-year-old, who found game time hard to come by earlier in the season, has now started all of Arsenal’s last five matches, both in the league, and in Europe.

Arteta hails Trossard as Arsenal's "weapon"

Arsenal’s win at Fulham marked the first of seven fixtures in 21 days for Arteta’s men with a Champions League home clash against Atletico Madrid to come on Tuesday.

The north London team will be looking to build on a strong opening to their European campaign with successive 2-0 victories against Athletic Bilbao and Olympiacos.

The run of matches is set to test the depth of Arsenal’s new-look squad with captain Martin Odegaard, Noni Madueke and Kai Havertz already absent through injury.

But Arteta continued: “We know the schedule and the load is what it is, and the games now and the context demands a bigger squad.

“All the top teams are in the same boat, and we’re going to have to manage that really well, to look after them, and especially to get the best out of them.”

Man Utd may regret selling £73m CF who's scoring more than Sesko & Mbeumo

Manchester United’s lack of goals throughout 2024/25 was a real concern to everyone involved with the club – undoubtedly adding to their lowly Premier League finish.

The Red Devils ended the previous campaign in a measly 15th place, with no player in the first-team squad managing to register double figures for goals in the league.

Departures of Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho throughout the summer window saw the side lose 23% of their goals from the last campaign, showcasing the need for added goals in Ruben Amorim’s side.

However, spending has not been alien to the United supporters after Erik ten Hag was handed over £600m to make the desired changes during his tenure at Old Trafford.

Despite previous claims from the hierarchy that huge money wouldn’t be spent during the off-season, the side now have two top-level talents now within their ranks in the form of Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko.

What Mbeumo & Sesko will bring to United

Mbeumo’s move to join United may have set the board back a huge £71m, but it offers the side a proven and talented Premier League option in their quest for success at Old Trafford.

The 26-year-old netted 20 goals in England’s top-flight throughout 2024/25, but his underlying stats further highlight his quality within the attacking department.

The Cameroonian ranked in the 96th percentile for goals per shots taken, whilst also ranking in the 98th percentile for goals scored per 90.

He didn’t just catch the eye for his ability to find the net, but also managed to create chances for those around him – as seen by his ranking in the 91st percentile for crosses completed per 90.

Such numbers would be hugely beneficial for numerous players at the club – but none more so than fellow new big-money addition Sesko.

Like Mbeumo, the former RB Leipzig man set the board back over £70m, but is undoubtedly seen as an immediate and long-term solution for the club’s dire goalscoring record.

The 22-year-old netted 21 times across all competitions last season, but also ranked in the 88th percentile for dribbles completed per 90 – subsequently handing the side a top-level all-round talent.

There’s no denying the big-money talents will hand the manager the quality he’s desperately lacked in recent times, but the hierarchy may have been better off keeping hold of another talent.

The former United star who outperformed Mbeumo & Sesko

Numerous big-money strikers have tried and failed to be a success at United, as seen by Hojlund’s recent spell at the Theatre of Dreams.

The Dane arrived with huge expectations after the club forked out £72m for his signature in the summer of 2023, but his time at Old Trafford has been nothing short of a disaster.

He only netted four league goals last season, even going on a 21-game goal drought – ultimately leading to his departure and the moves for Mbeumo and Sesko this summer.

Huge funds would’ve been saved had they kept hold of Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku, with the forward potentially being offloaded too prematurely by the Red Devils.

Back in the summer of 2017, United forked out a mammoth £75m for the signature of the centre-forward in an attempt to bolster their frontline under José Mourinho.

Such a figure, like the recent additions, generated huge excitement amongst the fanbase, but the player certainly lived up to the hype he arrived at Old Trafford with.

He netted 27 goals in his debut year in Manchester, followed by 15 in his second, taking his tally to 42 goals in his 96 appearances across all competitions for the Red Devils.

However, Lukaku, who’s been labelled “world-class” by fellow professional Jordan Graham, would leave the side after just two years – moving to Italian side Inter Milan on a permanent basis in a £73m move.

Fast-forward to the present day, the 32-year-old is now plying his trade for Napoli – still possessing a clinical edge that catapulted Antonio Conte’s side to title glory in 2024/25.

During such a campaign, he managed to outperform new additions Sesko and Mbeumo in numerous areas – posting more assists than the duo (11), having the ability to create carnage despite his centre-forward role.

The Belgian also ranked among the top 5% of strikers in Europe’s top five leagues for goals and assists per 90 (0.76) tallies that were both higher than United’s new big-money additions – showcasing the threat Lukaku still poses in attacking areas.

At 32, there’s no denying that the former United star is entering the back end of his career, but he still has the talents to make an impact under Amorim at Old Trafford, scoring a mega 128 goals since departing. Compare that to Mbeumo (79) and Sesko (51) and there is a big difference.

Had they kept hold of him in the last six years, the hierarchy could’ve saved themselves millions of pounds – arguably having a better chance at success had the centre-forward stayed put at the Theatre of Dreams.

Durbar Rajshahi's local players skip training to protest non-payment of fees

Durbar Rajshahi cancelled their training session in Chattogram on Monday after their Bangladeshi players protested for remaining unpaid by the BPL franchise. Several of the players, seeking anonymity, confirmed that they took the stance after Rajshahi owner Shafique Rahman shifted the payment date several times. The players informed the team management of their reluctance to go to training on Monday morning, following which the franchise informed the media that “the team decided to opt for a rest day today”. News spread soon afterwards that Rajshahi’s local players forced the management into this decision after spending the last two weeks without payment. The overseas players and coaching staff, however, have been paid 25 per cent of their total fees after the team’s fourth match of the season, against Fortune Barishal on January 6.Related

After hearing of the incident on Monday, BCB president Faruque Ahmed spoke to the board directors before holding discussions with Rajshahi owner Shafique Rahman, captain Anamul Haque, and several other players. The deadlock, however, remained at the time board director Manjur Alam briefed the media in Chattogram on Monday evening.”I am speaking on behalf of the BCB president,” Manjur said. “The board president called an emergency board meeting on Zoom. I was physically present, the other directors were online. Negotiations are in process. Hopefully we can come to a solution tomorrow. The president spoke directly to the team owners, captain and players. We have a positive vibe from all parties. They will attend practice tomorrow, which is the most positive part of the negotiation.”The BPL governing council have set the payment schedule for the franchises to pay all players 50% of their total fees before the start of the tournament, 25% during the tournament, and the remaining 25% after the tournament. The BPL governing council had also instructed the teams to give the BCB a bank guarantee of BDT 8 crore (USD 657,000 approx), but the franchises requested that this sum be brought down to BDT 3 crore (USD 246,000 approx). Even then, Fortune Barishal are the only team to have paid the BCB the bank guarantee.ESPNcricinfo has learned that the cheques of some of Rajshahi’s local players bounced on January 9. This lead to the players threatening to pull out of their January 10 game against Khulna Tigers. Team owner Shafique Rahman told the players they would be paid on January 14, but that didn’t come through either. The latest breakdown in communication led to the players pulling out of Monday’s training session in Chattogram. A number of them have said they will not play Rajshahi’s next game, against Sylhet Strikers on January 17, unless all the local players are given 50% of their payments.ESPNcricinfo has also found out that Rajshahi have been irregular with their daily allowance payments. The players have had to bear their own costs from January 5 to 11, the last time they were contacted by ESPNcricinfo.Anamul had sounded out the payment problem as early as December 30. In the post-match press conference following Rajshahi’s tournament opener against Barishal, Anamul had said the players were yet to be paid their first installment.”We haven’t been paid our wages. None of us have,” he said. “The BPL has just started so we don’t want to raise a negative image of the tournament. Everyone around the world is keeping an eye on BPL.”The players have been reluctant to speak on record on the payment issue after that, but the mood inside the Rajshahi camp is one of unease.

Arsenal open talks with Premier League club over "surprise" transfer

Arsenal are now in club-to-club talks with a Premier League side over another transfer, as Mikel Arteta receives new sporting director Andrea Berta’s full support in his attempts to end the Gunners’ long wait for title glory.

Having already sealed confirmed deals for Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard, with the latter set to be announced shortly after completing a medical (David Ornstein), Arteta’s side certainly aren’t slowing down.

Arsenal appear determined to bridge the gap between themselves and English champions Liverpool, who won the league by a seismic 10 points last season, and Berta will be mindful of the excellent business their rivals have already conducted themselves this summer.

With Man City and Chelsea also making splashes in the market, competition at the top of the table will be rife, and Arsenal are attempting not to be left behind.

Reports suggest that Arsenal are in advanced talks to sign Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres, and the Sweden international could well join them in time for their pre-season tour of Asia later this month.

Alongside the prolific 27-year-old, who netted an outstanding 54 goals in all competitions last season, Arsenal have held positive negotiations for Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, who would join in a deal independent of the club’s chase for a new left-winger.

While Real Madrid’s Rodrygo has been mooted as Arsenal’s “dream” target in that area, Berta appears to be moving for Chelsea forward Noni Madueke as an alternative.

The England international has already agreed personal terms to join Arsenal, as widely reported, but there’s been a slight wait for them to make formal contact with Chelsea.

However, it now appears that the wait is now over.

Arsenal open talks with Chelsea over "surprise" Noni Madueke deal

As per talkSPORT and other reliable media sources, Arsenal have opened club-to-club talks with Chelsea over signing Madueke, with the broadcast giant saying he’s “emerged as a surprise candidate” to become their fourth signing of the window.

It is believed that Chelsea value their man at north of £50 million, with reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano also sharing a key piece of information from his own sources, via X.

An initial bid has apparently gone in for Madueke, which is worth £50m including add-ons, but as things stand, that still won’t be enough.

Chelsea want more than £50m as a fixed fee, not including add-ons, with the west Londoners referencing Anthony Elanga’s £55 million move to Newcastle, among other similar deals, as a yardstick for Madueke’s valuation.

Talks remain ongoing, and it appears there is still some ground to cover in negotiations before we can call this one a ‘done deal’.

In terms of the 23-year-old’s quality, he would be an excellent option, with Enzo Maresca even calling Madueke one of his “best players” from last season. It does plunge the futures of Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard into serious doubt, though, and we wouldn’t be surprised to see at least one of the duo depart before deadline day if Madueke is signed.
